To me, they seem to be feeding on taboos and stigmas. Ex-homosexual makes very little sense as someone is born with their sexual orientation, they don't (often) change it.
Ex-masturbator raises two issues for me
1: is that even a word?
2: that isn't actually a good thing. Sure, masturbating can be bad when done obssessively, but in moderation it actually helps a person psychologically. It causes sexual freedom and the like.
Also, I went on the website and saw an 'ex porn addict'
Initial thought: WHAT?
a) people aren't actually addicted to porn. They like the feelings caused by watching, but very few like the actual content (does that make sense?)
b) personally, from a religous point of view, I see nothing wrong with porn if all participants are willing and know what is happening. An 'ex-voyeur' (do they actually make those? Don't think so) I can understand, more or less, bit ex porn addict is pushing it a bit far.
ex-fornicator, on the grounds of fornication, from what i understand the definition to be, extra-marital sex, what is wrong with that? Nearly all of the people I know that have had sex did it outside marriage. The only difference is a change of names, and a ceremony. No physical change. The only change is the way you percieve it.
'Sinful' is overused, and almost meaningless, applying for nearly everything from murder to fantasizing. Enjoying sex isn't sinful, and it seems that's what they're punishing. Not to mention the fact they're 'denouncing the evils' of masturbation via a slippery slope argument.
Side note: ex-atheist? If they buy any of these shirts, doesn't it follow they're an ex-atheist?
ps: sorry for the rant.
