If this girl is more influenced by what her friends think than by the connection between you two, she probably isn't "the one" for you anyway. Staying in a relationship where only one person is doing all of the work and dedicated to keeping things together, while the other just isn't as invested, will inevitably lead to hurt feelings.

I'm all for education and bettering oneself, but you shouldn't feel pressured to go to college just to live up to the expectations of one group of people. You can't please everyone. There are just as many girls out there that want to be with a working man as there are that want to be with a college student. If you're happy and secure about your lifestyle and the woman that you are interested in, then she isn't the right woman for you in my opinion. Move on and find someone that appreciates the way you are right now.
