Looking back, I am ever so grateful that I didn't even try to get a girlfriend in high school. You will have the rest of your life to let women interfere with your life. High school is one of the only times in our lives when we have the chance to enjoy life without the complications of a relationship.
That being said...
It sounds like she doesn't know what she wants yet, and unfortunately the answer most of the time with women is "move on". In fact, it is usually the best advice. Here's why: if you keep trying to pursue her, she'll take it negatively. You will seem needy and she will have the impression that she is the only one your spending your time thinking about. There isn't much competition in that, and if you were a man with everything going for him, wouldn't more women be interested in you than just her? The other reason why "move on" is in fact the best advice is that there are millions of women on the planet, and this one may or may not be a good fit for you. You cannot control her at all, only yourself. The way to control yourself is not fall into the trap that, no matter how strong your feelings are for her, you must sense that she will reciprocate those same feelings back to you. Otherwise you are quite literally waisting your time. I also wish I had read The Game when I was in high school, so I'm passing on the advice to you.
HTH...
