no situation is hopeless

You know you love him, and you can use some tricks to find out if he is still in love with you. If you really want him back you must first determine if you can use a clean slate and forget about the past gf etc. And realize that the opposite of love is not hate, it's complete and utter indifference.

When you decide to try and get him back you can see if he is open to meeting with you and discussing getting back together. If he's not receptive to this pay attention to his attitude and emotions. If he shows any emotions at all towards you such as jealousy anger or being irritated then it means there is still hope. You will just have your work cut out for you.
