According to Kinsey, approximately 37% of males had at least one same-sex experience leaving to orgasm during their lives.
In a recent study in Australia 9% of women and 6% of men admitted to homosexual experiences. That's not as high but it still significantly above the percentage of homosexuals in the population which is more accurately reported at around 2%.
So perhaps it isn't terribly high as a percentage but it is clear to me that it isn't uncommon, either. You might check Craig's List and see how many notices there are for married men who want to have a "different" experience.
