you have a great point made by woundering how this will effect the children. most people could care less.
your children love you. they will always love you. changing your life to make it more peacful and content wouldn't be something that they could hate you for.
it may take them some time, but i'm sure thay will forgive you and respect you.
now, please take into thought how your wife is going to handle this. her actions and yours will make this easy or hard the children. find a common ground and try to be adults.
i don't know your personalitys, so i'm not sure how either of you would handle yourselves.
