Absolutely! Sex is perfectly natural... Sex education is key though
Here's our perspective and not everyone will agree with us so take what resonates true in your heart.
Sex is a very natural part of a loving and healthy relationship and you should not hide that from your children. I'm not saying to have sex in front of them - that's a bit much... But, they should grow up knowing that sex is a perfectly healthy way for two adults to share their love with one another.
Now, your response to what to say to him will vary with age, but I believe that if a child is old enough to ask the question, then they deserve an honest answer.
For a very small child, you might say something like "Mommy and Daddy are wrestling, having a tickle fight, or loving one another". When he gets a little older and has an idea of what sex is, you can give a more honest answer and explain that this is something that adults do to show affection for one another and even talk about making babies, etc.
Sorry to ramble... The point that I'm trying to make is that sex is normal and healthy in a loving relationship. I think that we'd all be more healthy adults had our parents not been so ashamed of sex and of their bodies.
I personally have an entire bookshelf dedicated to sex and lovemaking books and hope that when my daughters are curious about sex, they will go there rather than to their inexperiences friends!
I would much rather have a daughter who is educated about sex and able to make informed decisions regarding her body, rather than having unprotected and uninformed sex because her parents didn't talk to her.
Hope this helps!
