It's been said that online porn has driven Internet innovation for the past decade, and indeed porn is a very, very lucrative niche. But guess what, suddenly there's a lot more to do online than gawk at porn. For example, you can easily spend 19 hours a day on Facebook and MySpace.
But never fear... porn isn't going anywhere anytime soon...
When it comes to social networks such as MySpace or Facebook, they probably haven’t affected anyone’s need for porn; they’re just better at killing boredom. That, and the fact that at one time, the Internet was all about porn, so there was simply too much of it around and everyone got slightly sick of it. As people find better things to do online, the demand for pornography will diminish, but I think it’s safe to say that porn site owners needn’t worry: it will never go away completely.
