Voyeurism
In simple terms: Likes to watch others performing certain activities, and gets sexual pleasure from it.
So basically, if watching someone getting changed turns you on, you have a mental disorder. Well, I guess that's two strikes for me (The first one being homosexual tendencies, according to the pentagon).
ADHD
I have most of the symptoms for that, and have had for a LONG time. My first grade teacher said that I should be put on medication, and my mother told her where she could shove her pills.
I'm perfectly happy with my hyper, fidgety self. People like me for my quirks, and that's what being an individual is about.
Pedophilia
So if you are attracted to someone who is not legally an adult you have a mental disorder. A lot of people think pedophiles are sick, and I admit many of them do appear to be that way. Just because you are attracted to someone who is not defined by the legal system as an adult, however, is no indication of mental illness in my thinking. It's a preference, just like it is to be attracted to one gender, the other, or both!
The most common defense for this used is "Well the child doesn't know what they're engaging in." Uhm... I'm 14 (fifteen on october third, woot! ^_^) and I know full-well the implications of sexual intercourse. I know the science of it, I know the symbolism of it, I'm fully ready. Whether I do it with a 24 year old, or a 15 year old I'm still just as knowledgeable about what I'm doing. Chances are, if you're over 12 you have a pretty good idea of what's going on. Not always, but in MANY cases.
(P.S: I'd have no qualms with having sex with someone over 18. So long as I'm sexually attracted to them, I believe my consent is just as good as an 18 year-old's. Sorry Dan and Jenn :P But as the "child prey" I have a different view on the subject when it concerns my own self, because I know that I understand sex)
Sadism
If you like to break out the whip every now and then and bend your lover over and whip his/her ass silly, then you're effing sick. At least, that's what we're told by a group of individuals who happen to feel this way, and have the power to put you in a mental institution for it.
Personally, I love the idea of inflicting mild pain and discomfort on my lover. I don't think I'm mentally ill for having my own kinks, but the conservative groups running things would like to tell us that any fetishes are abnormal.
Homosexuality
Not much I need to say here. The policies were changed (Except in the pentagon... but who the hell cares what a bunch of war mongering old men think?) on this... so that already proves that their little rules and regulations of individuality have been flawed in the past.
How much shall we bet that they still are flawed?
