I think a huge think for you would be to get comfortable around girls, start meeting girls and get comfortable around them. That will really build your confidence.

Once you know some girls and are comfortable being around them and interacting with them - and truly understand that they're just real people just like you - you'll be ready to go out with girls - more or less any girls you're interested in.

Putting your faith into this one guy to get you hooked up with a girl really misses the point in my opinion. Your whole life you're going to have to find your own relationships and make your own connections. Sure friends may introduce you, but don't count on someone (especially a new "friend" you don't really know) to solve the problem for you.

I know this is more of a long term answer than a solution to your short term dance question, but I think you'll end up with a lot more success this way and you'll be addressing the core underlying issue.
