If you track any of my post here at askD&J, you'll see the road before me. I would assume that the best plan is to go with who you know. There are a lot of reasons to stick to that motto and it is a easy plan to follow. If you don't have anyone to choose from, because you are afraid of alienating them as friends, then make new ones.
I would stress that "picking" someone up is a somewhat risky idea.
