hey,

Be very careful with dating co-workers. I make it a rule to never date someone you work with because so many times it turns sour very quickly. Dating at work seems logical because you spend most of your time there. It's easy and convenient but it comes with a price:

-If you started dating him and another co-worker doesn't like you she might take a run at him to spite you
-it goes sour and he turns other co-workers against you

The list goes on and on but you get the point. But if you decide to go with it here are a couple of things that can help you:

Fear of looking dumb will be the biggest issue holding you back. You need to recognize it and push through that fear. I enjoy poking fun at the girl I am talking to, especially if she embarrasses herself. If she takes my jokes and actually can laugh at herself, she's a keeper.

Other ways to get things going:

-you have a rude customer, talk to him about it in a funny way. Don't break down crying to him about it but talk about the rude customer. Then he can talk to you about the rude customers that come in and so on.

-Ask him what he did on his days off. If he did something you liked then you can mention it to him. Hopefully he will get the idea and say "hey, you should come with me to do xyz"

-If he didn't do anything fun or interesting tell him so and suggest that you like doing this and that much better. Kind of a challenge but in a playful way.

Some small tips to get things rolling.

Good luck

Alex
