Question If I am into BDSM does that also mean that I am a sex freak?

Ever since I found out I was into bondage, fairly young actually, and I started looking up sites and what not, I figured out that most ppl do bdsm just for the sex aspect of it. I am wondering if the very nature of bdsm implies sex cravings. Please help, thanks.

Shadowsoul: First of all, welcome.

Words are very powerful things. Shakespeare once said "Many who wear rapiers fear those who use quills." The words we use to describe things affects our deepest thoughts about those things.

I don't know what a "sex freak" is, and neither does anyone else. I think participation in any sexual activity implies a "craving," which I would define as a deep desire. Having desires doesn't make anyone a "freak" and it doesn't make you one.

My attitude is "If it ain't a problem; then it ain't a diagnosis." If any behavior is unhealthy, or prevents you from accomplishing things that are important to you, or violates the rights of others, then it is a problem. Otherwise, how you express your sexuality is your business, and the business of who you choose to share it with. There's no such thing as a "sexual freak" as long as it respects the health and rights of everyone involved.

When you use the word freak do you mean, out of the ordinary? strange? unacceptable? repugnant? If that is the case then no, you are not a sex freak, you are quite normal.

If by freak you mean you have a very healthy appetite and like sex a lot then the answer is yes.

Thanks to both of you. I think your words helped me understand both what I'm feeling isn't in fact strange but rather quite normal, and that there are lots of ppl out there who are ready and willing to help those in need, which I am very grateful for.
