should i ask her out even if my best friend likes her too?

well i knew this girl for about 3 years and ive liked her for about 2 years. But then i have this freind who i knew for 14 years my whole life, and well we jut started high school (freshmen yea i get cracked on alot>.<)

anyway my freind and this girl and me are almost in same clases. I introudced him to her and then the next day after he told me he liked her alot and wanted to ask her out. At first it didnt bother me but then after i said this might be my first true love,all my other datew were just making out or experementing if u kno what i mean .

But then after i told her that my freind liked her and she said "ohhh" and gave me a kiss on the lips and said i wish he woulda been you. Unless you're ignorant you could tell she likes me so i dont kno if its worth being wit a girl i love or ruining the best realtionship i had with my freinds

We're missing some information here that I'm not too clear about from your post:

• did your friend already ask her out?
• are they dating right now?
• does your friend know that you already like her?

Now, my immediate assessment of the situation is that she would much rather go out with you than your friend. She made this pretty clear by kissing you on the lips and telling you directly, so that much is obvious.

The problem could be dealing with your friend. If he's your bro and you guys are tight than it probably won't be a big deal if you simply take action before he does. It wouldn't hurt to tell him what she said, that she would rather go out with you. It'll be a bit of a let down for him, but at least you are not going behind his back.

And, why have you waited two years to do anything about this?

My rule is:

if your friends know you like a girl and you take no action to ask her out within a month, then that girl is fair game. You shouldn't be so selfish to limit your friend's options of hooking up, simply because you've been dragging your feet for a hundred years.

It's like poker, you either need to ante up or fold your cards.

Wow man, this situation is deep. My best advice to give is to talk to your friend privately about this whole girl situation. No matter which way it goes, there may be a spot in each of your minds that will hate you just a little bit. I would invite your friend over and tell him you have serious stuff to talk about it, settle it with him and tell him everything.
