The girl I really like has a boyfriend. What do I?

There is this girl I really like. I just started getting to know her her a few months ago. So last month I asked her to a dance, but she said that she didn't want to go to the dance but if she did she would have liked to go with me. So I think that is pretty good, so a couple of days later I ask her out. She said she didn't know if she could, but that she would try. So to make a long story short, we didn't get to go out. So I come to find out a few days later that she has a boyfriend. I'm all bummed out because I really like her. I really want to get to know her, and I really want to ask her out, but I don't want to be the type of guy that ruins a relationship. I don't know what to do.

Just wait, don't try to interject and "steal" her from the other guy, but be friends, but also make sure she still knows how you feel and she may eventually decide she would be better off with you, or as in most cases in high school, the relationship wont last too terribly long, everyone is just beginning at that point.
