First Date.....gift? flower? compliments?

Previous advice from Beagle and Xero worked out great for getting that first date, thanks guys. I'm taking her to a concert about an hour away, but that's not really important. My question is wether or not I should bring her a small gift when I pick her up. Perhaps a single flower of some kind? Or would this make me seam too desperate? Also, what would be the best way too compliment her without going overboard? Any advice guys or gals?

P.S. The best advice I have received thus far in these forums is just to bite the bullet, man up, and ask that certain someone out. I stummbled all over my tongue when I did, but she still said yes. Now the hard part's over!!!

Gift-No. Looks like you're trying to buy her affection. Comes off as insecure. Gifts too early can backfire faster than anything in dating. If she likes you she'll like you without a gift. If she doesn't, a gift isn't going to change the situation.

Flowers-No. Seems to eager to please. You're already doing enough.

Compliments-Yes, but sparingly. Compliment on something she doesn't expect to be complimented on. Girls with hot bodies or great faces get comments on those all the time. Pick something she isn't likely to have been complimented on.

For some heads up in the car, keep the music on low.

Try to find things to talk about. Jobs, careers, future college/school plans, music interests ect. ect. Make sure it has nothing to do with a relationship. Just keep things casual.
