Default Latex Fetish with Allergy?

I have a new guy and he told me he has a latex fetish. I think he waited to tell me, because he thought it might scare me off. It did scare me but it isn't a turn on either. Now, previously, I actually did have an allergy to latex. I am not sure the status of my allergy but I like to play it safe and still say i have a minor allergy to it. I told him we can see, but I know we won't be playing with such latex costumes yet anyways. But how should I go about helping him with his fetish without causing my allergy to latex to flare back up?

Just looking for ideas before we ever actually play with it. My allergic reactions are mainly topical, and like small hives and itching. I developed the allergy while I was working in the medical field (for like 8 years or more). I haven't been in the medical field for about 3 years or so now. So, I'm not sure how my allergy is now. So, my allergy is not life threatening at least.

Jenn: I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be sensitive to large amounts of latex at this point. If you had a true allergy, I'd saying that playing with latex is a closed door for you. Allergies don't just go away.

I know the last time I had sex with a Latex condom, that area hurt and was rather irritated for a couple days. Like i said, it's very minor allergy but still! Large amounts of latex scares me a bit! I have informed BF of the allergy to Latex. he said there are rubber, instead of latex, things to play with. We haven't gotten into this stuff yet, but we've just been talking about it so far. We may not have a chance to really explore it for awhile yet anyways... But I wanted to at least get ideas or something so I can approach this better and not cut off his chance to explore his fetish.

Thanks

I think before I played with large amounts of any material, I would try a small "sample" on a small area of skin. If this is an allergy, not just a sensitivity, you don't want to play with anaphalactic shock.

I think that since you say you have an allergy towards latex go get it checked out with your doctor first.. it might just be a sensitivity issue like beagle said, but it's better to be safe than sorry. If u think it's just a sensitivity issue try something small like a condom or a balloon (thats as small as I can think of) on part of your body where there's the least damage that can be done.
