How do you know when to say I love you to someone for the first time

Ok well I've been with a few guys but I've never been the first one to say I love you in any relationship mostly because i never felt totally "in love" i cared for them but not in a total deep emotional way. But this guy I've been dating for the last month 1/2 I just want to tell him that I love him so much but i'm afraid that he'll say i love you but not mean 100% like i did in my other relationships. I feel like i'm being completely irrational and ridiculous asking this but I feel totally in love and am afraid of rejection. Even though i know people are just going to tell me just go for it you'll never find love unless you put yourself out on the line and you have to be ready to get hurt to find love. He is on my mind all day. I don't even think this really is a question anymore ugh. Well any response will help. Thanks guys

I think what you need to do is sit down with him and just tell him.

Such as, "<insert name> I don't really know how you feel about this, but I really Love you. I don't really expect you to feel the same way right away, and I don't want you to run away. I just want you to know how I feel about you, I hope you understand."

Hopefully this gives you an idea. I think it depends on both people how they feel. I heard a co-worker say they won't say it until their a year or two in dating. To me that's almost for ever. I guess I said it too early after one month of dating. But I'm still with the girl, and its almost 9months now that we have been together.
