Default Is she interested?

I'm confused if my date is attracted to me or is just looking at me as a friend. Let me try and give you a little back ground, she's a bartender at Hooters, just got her Masters and is 20 years younger than me, don't roll your eyes. Anyway, on our first date she bought new shoes and a bag, our second date she bought a whole new outfit. I'm not sure if she's trying to impress me, others or only had orange shorts and tank tops. I'm a little slow and shy when it comes to women but I'm unsure if she's sending me signs that she's attracted to me. She did give me a hug at our end of our first date but I think it was because I gave her a gift, it was a can opener, long story. She thought it was funny and gave me a hug. So what do you think?
thanks
confused

C'mon - you have to share the can opener story!!!!

Sounds to me like she likes to shop! :-)

Don't read too much into the new outfits... It 's very common for a woman to buy a new outfit for a date. It's just a girl thing - we like to look good and a new outfit makes us look and feel our best.

She may also feel the need to impress you. If you are older, you're a bit a father figure whether you want admit it or not.

We're not going judge for the age difference because age does not determine maturity or life experience. But do recognize that she is 20 years younger and will not have the maturity or experience of a woman closer to the same age...

Our suggestion on these things is to always go straight to the source - ask her.

But make sure that you know where you stand and what you want from the relationship first. And be prepared to hear her answer and accept it. Nothing is more frustrating for a woman than for a man to ask her a serious question and then argue with her response!

Father figure - crap, oh well I guess I'll just stick to enjoying dinner with her. She is great company.

As far as asking her, I'm too shy.
