Spamming!!!!

I just need to get this out of my system: I think it is a new high in low to target vulnerable teens, who are seeking help with very real and serious problems problems, with "girlcam" messages. Obviously, these spammers think everyone except themselves is stupid. Anyone with a trained eye can recognize people using the same syntax and vocabulary under different screen names.

Someday, I hope the people writing these messages decide to move out of their parents basements and get real jobs.

Spammers: I'm an adult and I don't mind anything you want to send my way. It's beyond tacky to pick out a message obviously written by a kid who's hurting and send stuff like this to them!

The rest of you, I'm sorry. I just needed to get this off my chest. I feel better now.

Absolutely Beagle, you're so right on. It's pretty sad indeed.

For everyone else reading this - please be vigilant and help us keep our community free of spammers. If you see what looks like a bogus post, reply, thread, whatever - just click the "report this post" link under the post and enter a quick message saying what you noticed (i.e. bogus post, ad for shoes, etc.).

Those notifications come as direct messages to us, and as soon as we get them, we take care of the spam (usually the same day).

For any spammer we find (and trolls, but that's another topic): we disable their account, delete all the posts they've previously made, and ban their access to the Forums from their computer.

Let's work together to keep our community spam free - and make it a bad business proposition for spammers to spend their time creating accounts and posting junk.
