Default Dating for older women

I watch the video about fat, ugly men , well I think it's true and as you get older most men don't keep themselves up. So it harder for us older women that do keep to find a good looking man on a dating site. That means I do have to go for the younger guy which isn't bad, but let face younger guys have one thing on his mind for older women and I'm not a cougar (that's what they call it today). I don't have to have drop dead gorgeous guy , but chemistry, attraction something!! Maybe it's the state I live in: If anyone can tell me where to look and not pay for finding this person that would be so great. I'm tired of not meeting someone who fits my description.

Well Barbara, I think you're operating under a couple of misconceptions. So you know where I'm coming from, I'm an older woman who loves to date younger men so I do have a little experience here.

First of all, not all older men let themselves go. I know a couple of older guys who put the younger ones to shame! There's a guy in the town I live in who is in his mid 50s and is smokin'. That being said, I know a lot of younger guys who already look like they're about to give birth...to twins!

There are a lot of older guys out there who take care of themselves and look mighty fine, so if an older guy is what you're looking for, they are definitely out there. You don't have to date younger men.

Secondly, not all younger men are looking to bag a Cougar. Yes, those guys are out there but there are also a lot of younger guys who love older women and are attracted to them for many reasons other than just sex. Trust me, I've dated them and they are wonderful. Again, they're out there. It's just a matter of finding them.

All of that being said, there are a lot of free dating sites out there but the sad truth is that, a lot of times, you get what you pay for. A reputable pay site such as Match.com is reputable for a reason. But, if you're completely opposed to pay dating sites, you can try Plenty of Fish.

If you're having trouble finding men in your area, try expanding your search area some. Also, make sure your profile is written to try to attract the kind of men you're looking for. Be specific without coming off shallow and condescending.

Good luck!

Question

Thanks for your reply but been there done that even with Plenty of fish . I wouldn't mind a younger guy but still with all the dating sites I've been on not once have I seen a older guy and I'm talking in their 40's that look that good. I can't pay for a dating site ,just can't afford it so I guess no luck for me!! and if you don't mind me asking how old are you? and where did you see these good looking 50 guy's?

Haha...I don't mind you asking at all Barbara. I'm 45. I've been dating younger men for 4 1/2 years, but I've recently gone out with a 46 year old man that looks damn fine! I found him on Match.com.

I completely hear you on Plenty of Fish. I've been there, done that as well.

There are plenty of other places to meet good looking men other than online. The 50 something man I was talking about? I've seen him several places in town, but one of the places he loves to hang out is the gym which is the perfect place to find men who take care of themselves.

If you can't afford a gym membership, try your local YMCA. They have sliding fee memberships available for people who can't afford a membership. Also, try walking at a local park. Many local men run and the park is a good place to find them. Have a dog? Take it for a walk in the park.

Barabara, whatever you do, don't give up! Keep a positive attitude and keep your eyes open! Join clubs, network with friends, take dance lessons...men are everywhere not just on online dating sites.
