I Fell for a friend

I met this girl in one of my courses this semester, over the past five months we became friends but it wasn't until the semester ended that my feelings came to the surface. Since the last day of classes I haven't been able to stop thinking about her, the way she lit up my day every time I saw her, and since that last day I felt as though a piece of me was left behind the last time I saw her. I hung on every word she said as though nothing else mattered. Anyway I guess what I'm asking is, is it to soon to ask her out to see if we can be something more. Then I'm also worried that it could ruin our friendship if I do ask, I'm kind of unsure and need immediate advice.

CollegeGuy: The best route I have found is to find a relaxed, fun, talkative moment and ask "Have you ever thought about us being more than friends?" If she is interested, she has the opportunity to let you know and if not she has the opportunity to gracefully set a boundary on the relationship. It's also a very non-threatening way to bring up the subject in that it doesn't put any pressure on her to do anything.
