Victoria's Secret Runway: Cause for concern?

My boyfriend of a couple months has recently announced that he cannot wait to watch the Victoria's Secret Runway tonight. I'd be amused if he told me this in person and we got to watch it together and make commentary. However, he instead decided to announce his glee to the world of Facebook.

Note: we attend different Universities, so I can't exactly run over to his place and hop on the same couch as him.

So, basically... I want an opinion on what guys think when they watch shows like that. I know it isn't a matter of not liking me or not being attracted to me or any other nonsense like that. I'm just intrigued as to why this is something un-missable, given his usually studious nature.

Bare in mind, I'm not against him watching porn. It's just the idea of him sitting glued to a tv with some of his chums watching smoking hot models bounce up and down for an hour that makes me uncomfortable. I blame the estrogen, personally.

Anyway, I would like some feedback on this topic. Thoughts?

Interesting reaction! I assume it is also common for a group of women to watch this together as well.

I'm not sure what you're worried about though. Do you think all the guys are going to get horny watching this, lose control, and end up doing it with one another?

Think of it more like when you watch the Academy Awards or the Emmys. You probably look at their outfits and comment to yourself or others about their hair, their clothes, their posture, what they say, and so on. What's the difference with a bunch of guys doing it?

I think it's probably better than having him go out with his buddies to a strip club where lap dances and other activities actually DO go on rather than watching a tv image of a (lightly) dressed woman.

If it really bothers you, arrange to watch it together somewhere and make it worth his while!

You might start by posting something suggestive to his Facebook page.

Regardless, do NOT let him know it bothers you. It is not a good sign in a girlfriend and will only annoy him or cause an argument.

Hah, yeah, I wouldn't have thought of the fellows going to such extremes. I suppose my concern was more to do with the girly-thought of "seeing sexy ladies will make him wish I looked more like that"-ness.

In retrospect (e.g., now that I have had several hours to think things through), I really am not all that annoyed. I can see that what I was thinking was really more about my being somewhat self-conscious. Plus, it's not as though he doesn't see beautiful women in his day-to-day life anyway.

I didn't let on that I was annoyed at all, though, since I knew that no matter what, it wasn't worth "fighting" about.

And hah, good point... better plain-ol' tv than strip clubs (although, that is something we have discussed attending together sometime).
