Can you get pregnant this way?

Dear Dan and Jennifer,

If my boyfriend were to have semen on his hands, and immediately whipe it off with a napkin, then ten minutes later I use spit and my shirt to clean it off better then he fingers me, could I get pregnant?

The honest truth is that it is possible, but it is so unlikely that it is practically impossible.

The fact that there could have been a bit more semen on his hands when he fingered you says that there is the slightest chance of pregnancy, but it is highly unlikely. You shouldn't have any problems.

I wouldn't worry if I were you, just make sure to have him wash his hands (with soap) before touching you next time he gets anything on his hands (same for your hands, or anywhere else semen ends up on).

And if you're still paranoid after a week or so, buy yourself a low cost pregnancy test and use it. That's the only way I can fix my nervousness when I'm paranoid about pregnancy like that.
