The risk of disease transmission by a male receiving oral sex is small but not zero. The most likely culprit is the herpes virus. The herpes virus can affect the mouth or genitals, and oral herpes can spread to the genital area. Herpes I and II are known to be transmittable in this way.

HIV is generally found in the saliva only of persons with full-blown AIDS. I am not aware of any verified cases of oral sex leading to transmission of HIV for the recipient. Other treatable illnesses such as Chlamydia and gonorrhea can also take hold in the throat. The risk of transmission of these illnesses from an infected person to a male by oral sex is not well known at this time. Obviously, the person performing the oral sex is at far greater risk.

i was more concerned about HIV.
