It's a great segment, nicely done. Nothing like appearing to come out with a bang . Even though that was not our intent, and not what we said in the interview...

We are happy that they kept some of the more critical points on cheating and communication!

The original interview footage with the EXTRA producers was 1 hour long, at our home. What's amusing about it thought is that we did not in any way say or imply that we are "swingers".

Just like in all our hundreds of articles on AskDanAndJennifer.com, and hundreds of YouTube videos, we talk about Dating, Love, Sex (even Swinging and BDSM), but we made a choice to not talk about our own sex lives, since that detracts from the points we're making.

But as you can see, especially if you listen to what we said, the producers took a lot of liberties with the segment - as we knew they would. LOL To be fair the EXTRA guys were great and a pleasure to work with.

We are certainly very supportive of the swinger lifestyle (or the BDSM lifestyle for that matter), as we believe that as long as nobody gets hurt, consenting adults should be free to do as they please in the privacy of their bedrooms.

A quick tip for anyone just starting to get into media interviews, etc: regardless of what you actually say in the interview, the producers are going to edit and stitch together a segment that supports the storyline that program is promoting, whatever that ends up being by the time they actually produce that segment for broadcast. And they may well state as fact things you never said. Yep, it happens every day - as you see in this segment.

Hah that is great how they edited it... I took a media broadcast class in high school and that was the number one topic was how to edit the interviews to say what you want it to say. We even made it look like our school counselor was saying that teenagers should have sex with everyone they know... but that was just for fun.. never broadcast..lol.

But you guys looked great on it, and what a nice plug for the site! Besides, even if you never intended on saying anything about your personal lives.. they did do a nice job putting the lifestyle in a good light.

I know the fear of what they can do in the editing bay.
I don’t think I would have done the show but seeing how it turned out you guys looked great.

Thanks K, well said... they can work all kinds of magic in the production room to make the clips fit the story.

And thanks Maria. We're fine with how it turned out, fact is you can't control what anyone says. The Extra guys were really great to work with and they produced a nice segment.

What's very important for us here - this was a positive, non-judgmental perspective of swinging presented to millions of people on prime time TV (not the tired and factually incorrect stereotypes we see on the daytime pseudo self-help talk shows). Definitely a good thing.

Hmmm... I have to say our favorite interview to date was last summer, out in L.A. on Retirement Television, with Florence Henderson and Meshach Taylor. Plus it was a great excuse to take a couple days away together.
