Having been married myself for 14 years, my best advice to a new couple considering tying the knot is "Picture yourself with this person in 20 years. What will you be talking about? What will your finances look like? Will you have anything in common after the excitement of a new relationship has faded? What about when he or she finds out I am _____________? "

My wife Kim and I asked those very questions about our relationship. We call it the 20 year decision. If you can heart to heart truthfully and honestly say "Yes in 20 years this is going to be working" Then you probably have a pretty good shot of making it.

We live in a world where Marriage is the object, not the relationship. The wedding ceremony, the paperwork and the honeymoon should be something that supplements the great relationship you have, rather than one that creates it or seals the deal.

One of my highschool teachers (whom I respected a lot) told me these words : "Seduction is an ongoing process."
