Sex Poll - Is It OK to Have Sex During That Time of the Month?

Sex Tips & Advice - Sex Poll - Is It OK to Have Sex During That Time of the Month?

Is it ok to have sex during that time of the month?

This post was sparked by a question that we got from a good friend of ours. He asked us if it was OK to have sex with his girlfriend during that time of the month.

Our immediate reaction was "Why are you asking us instead of your girlfriend?" This is a topic that you should discuss with your partner, not your friends - unless of course your friends are having sex with your partner ;-).

While we may joke about it, this is a question that a lot of people, men especially, would like to know the answer to. If you ask 10 different people, you’re likely to get 10 different answers.

Men and women are often at odds over this seemingly simple question.

Some guys think it’s icky; others can’t go a whole week without sex and couldn’t care less.

Some women want nothing to do with a man during that entire week, and others can’t get enough.

We’ve certainly tried it, but it’s not our favorite time to have sex. We do however; really enjoy the week and a half that comes right AFTER that week.

Now that you’ve heard how we feel about it, we want to know what you think.

    Hi,

I wanted to comment on your poll about “that time of the month”. Normal, actual intercourse in bed doesn’t work for me then, but there are some fun alternatives. Try intercourse in a bath or shower, no worry about mess, or I get a good feeling from taking care of a guy orally. There are creative things to do that can still keep you close.

Being the married parents of a three-year-old really changes your perspective. My wife and I get one date-night a week (usually). So if we’re on a date, we’re going to put that time to good use! We’re not about to let “that time of month” get in the way.

I’m 50, she’s 49, we’ve been married for 29 years, and known each other since we were 15. We have sex every day, most times more than once, and we have had sex up to 13 times in one 24 hour period,(just last November). We cherish that time of the month as a very ‘hot’ experience. Messy? Yes. Cleanup is not a problem. We will sooo miss her period as she enters menopause.

I see that time of the month as a normal and healthy biological process, and don’t have hesitation having sex with my wife if the mood arises. My wife on the other hand is very turned off by the mere suggestion of it. She’s happy to take care of me in other ways, but intercourse is not on the menu.

I don’t paticuarly like it but then there are things I like he could do without. It isn’t one of Bear’s favorite times of the month but hey he takes what he can get when he can get it. 15 years of marrage and 6 kids can do that to ya.

My way of dealing with it, is if he really wants it then he better meet me at the door with a case of Mt. Dew, and a Chocolate balverian cream cake. If Im having a paticuarlly bad hormonal mood swing that day then if hes smart he will throw in dishes and putting the kids to bed. Well hey, Im the one that said marrage wasn’t that much different than prostitution.
Lucky for Him Im Quick Cheap and Easy WEG

    Let’s see,
I found an old testament reference cautioning against out of consern for blood diseases and avoiding other tribes traditions.
A book of eastern sex secrets for health was conserned about forcing the flow backwards and increasing painful clots. That same book suggested that might be beneficial in cases of anemia.
A Tibetan medicine book emphasized avoiding sex when a pathogen is affecting the mestrual cycle. Pretty good general advice.
Of course the latter two also mentioned treatments for problems caused from ignoring said advise, so as long as the couple is willing to take care of the after-effects, go ahead from time to time.

Yes, I have had sex on while I was on my period. It was even my first day when bleeding is a little heavier than the rest of the days. The good thing was helped my mood swings get better and it felt GREAT. That area is a little more sensitive than usual during that time. I always have a normal period. My Bf has a huge jacuzzi and we did it on the floor. It was amazing!!! Clean up is easy. He used a condom. He was the one who innitiated it. He thought a girl being on her period is perfectly normal and there’s nothing wrong with having sex then. If you’re going to do it on the bed, then you might want to keep something under the bedsheet to prevent it from staining your mattress and be ready to throw the sheets in the washing machine immediately after sex.

Sex during my lady’s period … of course. She is at her sexiest then … and that is all it takes for me.

My boyfriend is 39, I am 50 and he can’t go more than every other day, mainly fatigue and work stress.
