This line above stopped me dead. As the mother of 2 teens, I can sum it up. Anytime you tell a teen to flat out NOT do something, you are pretty much guaranteeing yourself th opposite outcome.

At what point did we begin to think teens were stupid? They know what’s going on and deserve the respect from the public to be educated enough to make their own decisions and not be expected to follow blindly like lemmings.

My spawn aren’t angels and have been know to make a poor decision or two. However, when we arm them with an education and real reasons other than “because I said so” and “because it’s bad” they tend to make the choice that is in their best interest.

Sometimes their choice isn’t mine but as the mother of 2 teens, I’ll have to get over that part pretty quick. What ever you do don’t tell them I said that. ; )
