If you don’t already know, Adult Friend Finder is the largest sex and swinger personals web site on the internet today with 22,319,717 members. That’s almost identical to the population of Texas which is 23,507,783. Hmmm… That’s a lot of people on just this one website.
What is a sex and swinger personals web site? Well, it’s basically a dating site for singles and couples looking for sex. What many people don’t realize is that Adult Friend Finder gets more visitors every day than Match.com and eHarmony put together!
That’s no big surprise. But what IS a surprise is that Texas is ranked #2 in the number of subscribers to this web site.
Here is the state by state breakdown of the top sex enthusiasts in the U.S., according to Adult Friend Finder:
- California - 1.2 million (That’s 3.3% of the state population)
- Texas - 800,000 (That’s 3.4% of the state population)
- Florida - 743,000 (That’s 4.1% of the state population)
- New York - 660,000 (That’s 3.4% of the state population)
- Illinois - 429,000 (That’s 3.3% of the state population)
Wow, what’s truly amazing here is that Texas - the heart of the Bible Belt - is #2 in all of the U.S. with a larger percentage of the population subscribing than California!
Is Texas shedding it’s ultra conservative facade? Or will the truth remain buried behind closed doors with faceless pictures on the top sex personals sites like Adult Friend Finder?

While it’s difficult to identify the exact number of internet users, ComScore Media Metrix reports 4% of all Web traffic and 2% of all time spent Web surfing involved an adult site.
- According to a recent study by Google, adult content is the most sought after content by users with cellphones. Google’s team found that 20 percent of searches on cellphones were for adult content, while only 5 percent of searches on PDAs were for it. The researchers sifted through 1 million searches by users of their mobile search software to come up with these numbers.
- The AVN Annual Survey of the Adult Industry 2006 asserts that the adult entertainment industry is nearly a $13 billion business in 2006, mostly in the form of adult videos. But the delivery mechanism is changing… Internet sales of adult content, which includes images, live-chat and live-streaming video, has now become the second largest adult entertainment segment, with 22 percent of the market or $2.8 billion in sales.
So, are more than 23 million people wrong? Or are the rules and social stigmas against sex and enjoying our sexuality outdated remnants of the Victorian age?
Obviously the demand is there, but so are the ultra conservative religious extremists and the lawmakers that they keep in their pockets. Which explains why prostitution is still illegal in most states and certain sexual acts between consenting adults are illegal in the privacy of their own homes. The fact that consenting adults cannot do whatever they choose in the privacy of their own homes, without causing harm to anyone, is outrageous!
This is also why Janet Jackson was persecuted for her wardrobe malfunction during the Superbowl a few years back (the most replayed moment in TiVo history) and Chicago TV reporter, Amy Jacobson, was persecuted for doing an interview in her swimsuit. Exactly what is wrong with a breast and a belly button anyway? Really… Stop and think about that for just a moment.

What a bunch of rubbish! Organized religion has been telling us the end is near for the past 2000 years and nothing ever happens. At any given point in time in history you can always find a bunch of religious fanatics spouting off the latest flavor of Apocalyptic BS. Yours is not different. Makes me very glad that I do not believe is such pious mythology.
My wife and I currently live in Alberta, Canada and we have an account together on AdultFriendFinder (AFF) and we noticed some interesting things about their numbers. There are about 180,000 profiles on AFF for the province of Alberta out of a population of 3,450,000 people. That works out to 5.2% of the Alberta population having a profile on. That percentage is slightly higher than what is reported in the story above…..hey our winters are long and cold and we need something to do LOL.
If you look closely at the Alberta numbers you will notice that out of those 180,000 profiles, over 145,000 are posted by single men! That’s right, about 80% of the profiles are from men looking to get laid. The term “single men” is rather loose meaning that most of these guys are likely a married man cheating on his wife and looking for sex on AFF. Of course there are genuine single men on AFF, but it can hard to distinguish between the two. I work in downtown Calgary and I calculated that about every fifth man that I walk by on the street here has an ad on AFF LOL.
These men are in turn chasing about 5,000 women. I think everyone can see the problem here. The ratio of “single men” to single women is around 30:1 in Alberta. The women get bombarded with emails from all these guys and can be quite frustrating for them. I would say the proposition for the single men to find a willing female is quite bleak as they have to to be nothing short of extraordinary to get a hot date.
For the remainder of the numbers in Alberta you have about 12,000 swingers and the rest is made up of alternative lifestyles like gay, lesbian, transvestites and transgendered people. Of those 12,000 swingers not all of those are genuine either. A lot of those profiles are fakers (married men who have profiles without the knowledge of their wives). These guys enjoy the thrill of talking to other swingers (i.e. cyber sex), looking at and collecting pictures. Based on our experience as many as 25-40% of the swinger ads in Alberta are from fakers. Though it’s not too hard to figure out which profiles are written by the cheating men, the profile usually has a couple of lines text something to the effect of “We are a horny, need sex. Send us email.†The profiles with very lousy pictures tend to be a dead give away too. The worst part with these faked profiles is that some guys will post pictures of their wives without their knowledge. On most every genuine swinger profile,people will add a disclaimer, often in bold letters like “No single men need apply!!!!†We have one on our profile and it seems to be pretty effective as we hardly ever get any emails from single men.
The number of genuine ads on AFF is really not as large as the numbers suggest. I would estimate that only about 10% of the people who have profiles on AFF in Alberta are actually successful in meeting up with other people for a hot date. As you can guess the people who have the most success would be single women, swingers, the alternative lifestyle people and a few very lucky men. I have looked at other regions on AFF and their ratios would be very similar to what I just described. So in places like California and Texas the numbers of genuine profiles are not near as high as one might think. Though a lot of people come and go on AFF. Once people have found their circle of play partners they cancel their account and move on. How many people do this is uncertain, but I would speculate that it is quite a lot.
We have had some good success with AFF and have met some really great couples. But there is a lot of BS you have to sift though to find the people who are serious about meeting. The longer one is on AFF the easier it gets to determine who is serious about meeting and who is not. Using AFF to connect with other people can be a lot of fun but in reality nothing beats meeting real people at a swingers club or special event.

Pious means devout, godly, reverant, it is an attribute of a person not a religion. if you are going to insult a religion, at least use proper words. You also cannot critic the views of many on the views of a few. We as Christians do not have any idea when he will return because he has not revealed that to us. It also takes more faith to not believe in a God, than it does to not. Think about it would it make more sense for something to create another, or for it to magically just appear. As for where God came from, he has not revealed that to us, it is as the greeks call it mysterium (a mystery we cannot solve through our human comprehension)
There are that many Texans on adult sites partly because of the change in demographics that’s been going on there for the past couple of decades. Texas is now 35% Hispanic and it’s now the second most populous state in the U.S., only trailing California. People have been moving there in droves and the population continues to increase. So Texas is no longer the same “bible belt” state it once was. There are likely more Roman Catholics there now than any other Christian denomination.
You ever notice how over-zealous Christian types can’t spell worth a crap when they post. They also don’t have very good reading comprehension skills either.
If they ever picked up the Bible and read it without taking passages out of context to serve their own personal ego and beliefs then the world would be a better place.
Oh and try reading other history books too…it’s funny how they always forget that the Bible was put together in such a way to serve the edicts of the early Catholic “Empire.”
What is the obsession with the End of the World anyway? I bet you’re chompin at the bit for 2012. Is your life really that bad that you need God to come back and smite the gays and people who enjoy sex outside of missionary style. Will that make it all better for you?
Get a clue dude…Revelations was written for weak minded sheeople by a guy that was insane. Look it up! The early Church loved it because it was their scare tactic ace-in-the-pocket if you didn’t believe in their teachings.
The God I believe in doesn’t have to scare me into liking him.
