Hey Dan & Jennifer,

A couple questions; Dan are you uncircumcised? and Jennifer do you prefer men who are uncircumcised?

I'm a young male (26) from Canada. I am uncircumcised and I'm glad. One because my parents gave me the option and two I personally find it adds to my sexual experiences. I will remain "uncut" and I will also not circumcise my male children for the same reasons. I did need to stand up for myself when I was younger, because some of the other guys were circumcised and they would say some things. In fact I even lied about it to a friend once, telling him that I was circumcised just so I would fit in. Later in life I learned to appreciate it and found that it was much more appealing. As for the girls I have been with most of them enjoy it and either find it is easier to work with because you have the ability to move the skin up and down rather than having to use lubricant or other methods. Also girls have grown fond of it because it is rare now days and they see it as a fetish, my current girl friend much prefers uncut men and says it actually turns her on. She does express her fondness of foreskin during sex, it is quite amazing!

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I liked this video and you raise good points. I think there will be more and more uncircumcised males in the future as people realize the actual differences.

Anyone that believes in circumcision, should watch one. Most doctors don't give pain medication, they use sugar water. Your child is strapped to a board and screams the whole time.. Hardly humane.

And for all the people that point towards health benefits, do some more research. The more that you research the more you will find that most of the studies are skewed.

Great video and article. More people need to speak out the truth regarding routine infant circumcision. It is posts like this that is helping turn the tide to the US becoming more intact.

As for circumcision preventing penile cancer, Biology101 needs to do more research. Penile cancer is very rare. Breast cancer in men occurs more frequently than penile cancer, but we don't suggest prophylactic mastectomies for men. The current thinking is that factors other than circumcision status are more significant to the incidence of penile cancer. Also, the American Cancer Society does not recommend circumcision as a cancer preventative.

As for circumcision reducing HIV, that experiment failed in the US. Currently, 80% of sexually active men in the US are circumcised, but the US has a higher rate of HIV and AIDS than Europe and other countries where circumcision is not routinely practiced. Preventing STDs is best accomplished by practicing safe sex. It is important to note that the researchers for the Africa trials recommend that the circumcised men still wear condoms. So why bother with circumcision?

I want to thank you for directing me to this article/video. I want to add though, an intact penis is NOT easier to keep clean. Actually, an infant baby penis just wipes like a finger, easy does. No retraction should be done because it will cause pain, tearing and infections. The foreskin is attached to the head of the penis during infancy throughout boyhood til puberty sometimes longer. The only one that should retract if the boy himself. When they are able to do so, the action Retract, Rinse and Replace (The 3 Rs) takes no more than 5 seconds. That’s even longer to wipe a dirty butt after defecating. We still need to teach our children how to wipe their butts right?

I agree. Circumcision is a simple cosmetic surgery, and doing this to an undeveloped tiny body it is definitely harmful and wrong.

And to the Biology101 poster, if you want to amputate part of your genitals to prevent penile cancer or STDs, why don’t you cut off the whole thing? Just sayin’…

Hi there! sorry those are not factual statements and we do not agree with them, which is why they were not covered, certainly not as facts.

Different STDs and STIs are transferred in a myriad of diffferent ways… some by skin on skin contact, some by fluid to fluid contact, some by blood to blood contact.

This was not a video on STDs but if you search this site (top right search bar) you’ll find a number of videos we did produce recently specifically on preventing STDs and STIs.

I’m disapointed that the question about STD infection (which circumcision reduses) wasn’t answered and penile cancer (which circumcision totally pevents) wasn’t even menioned. I’m not trying to say that children should be put through pain for vanity. But peircing a child’s ears and circumcision are very different things.
