Awkward silence! It happens and when it gets silent I run through my mind saying: ok, what have we talked about, what has happened and what interests does she have etc so that I can turn around the silence and turn it back into conversation.

Yes it would be better if conversations were just completely fluid and flow into each other but you might hit that one thing where it just stops.

I try not to think the worse like the examples you've mentioned up top: Ok what do I talk about, will this date be the last etc.

Like the current lady I've met. We've gone out for dinner and a movie a couple times now (we're limited because of my leg healing, silly Achilles tendon) and we plan on doing it again. I get get mixed things from her but its still fun. We talk and we have our little silences but its something to work on right? Won't force conversation because that makes things more awkward, or so I find it does.
