I think it is a very good idea to have a short interaction (drink/coffee) instead of dinner. I solves many problems. One problem being – how the check gets paid. Many people fall into old-fashioned dating roles of who should do this and who should do that, when this is a initial meeting, one to see if the both of you even want to see each again. I don't feel that this initial meeting should be considered a real date. The real date comes after the two parties meet and one asks the other out for real. Just my opinion, great blog and topic.

Absolutely Sam! People forget they're connecting with another real person. we like to call online dating “online introductions” because it's all about meeting people, but let's actually meet and figure out who you are really a fit for.

This is so true, especially when it comes to “chatspeak”. Nothing is more annoying them someone who can't type the way they speak. “hey baby, i like ur profile maybe we shud get tgthr sumtime” Like, really people?
