    Hello everyone! I just wanted to clarify that Catholic teaching aknowledges the fact that we are sexual beings as very good! The fact that Dan and Jennifer stated that religion deems sex and sexuality to be dirty and evil only demonstrates a lack of understanding of Catholic teaching. I’d reccomend reading Christopher West’s book “The Good news about Sex and marriage” It gives the whys behind what appears to be the ‘rules’ of Catholic teaching.

    Another thing to consider is that a girl no longer gets married within a month of getting her first period. Expecting to marry a virgin may be reasonable when you are planning to marry a twelve-year-old. But expecting someone in her mid-twenties to be a virgin is pretty unrealistic.

    Then why are there so many loud-mouthed, ignorant Christians fighting against sex education in public schools. Why do they insist on “abstinence only?”

    We are not talking about religion in general – only the fundamentalists who seem to believe that ignorance is power and use it to control their followers.
