I think we should have comprehensive sex ed. Afterall even with the abstinence only program we had at my school, parents still had to sign a paper giving their permission for their kid to hear the words “penis” and “vagina.” If the parent signed on the line that said they don’t give permission, then the kid was taken out of the class. I don’t see why we can’t have comprehensive sex ed. with a form that gives parents the option of removing their kid from the class. R-chan
I go to Pittsburgh Public Schools in Pennsylvania (GO STEELERS AND PENS) and the district is starting to teach about safe sex and prevention and not just abstinence this coming year. It’s ridiculous because we should have started sooner. There are plenty of pregnant girls at my school. For gods sake there are pregnant freshmen. It’s about time they start teaching better.
Should be interesting for you. When I was in highschool they taught sex ed, they tried to say abstaining is good and then proceded to show us on a projector pictures of penises and vaginas infected with various (severe not average) stds. Then they showed us how to put on a condom on a fake penis and made 2 student put the condom on it in front of everybody, they showed this in yr 11.
Yeah it’ll probably be interesting but I’ve taken my two required health classes so I won’t see. They’ve also showed those disgusting pictures of extreme STDs. But it’s funny because most of my class mates and I have already have sex and know about it and just now they’re starting to teach about it. Now that I know must things first hand.
It quite funny that they show extreme cases like that as we know that isnt normal, most people would get help before it got that far. I was smart enough to know better as well and by then most of us had done it by then,

Any kid with a computer or a Blackberry has sex education in school.
They see porno all the time.
They could be watching your show in Math class, and probably are.
The idea that you can suppress sexual desire in teenagers is ludicrous, and with computers it’s impossible.

I know I was taught under both class structures…however, I believe strongly in and am a huge fan of the “Abstinence Only” program
